Big rig driver Bill Ketter learned that lesson the hard way late one night when he invited a "lot lizard" into his cab to help him forget a broken marriage, to help ease the pain of an empty life, to help drain some of the trouble that knotted his shoulders and burdened his mind.
The "lot lizard"... that emaciated hooker that he had initially felt sorry for... drained Bill Ketter's troubles all right. Right along with his humanity.
It didn't make him happy.
